In tegenstelling tot de andere twee types wordt een Collins cocktail echter geserveerd in een longdrinkglas en samen met ijsblokjes. Bovendien worden Collins cocktails meestal gesorteerd met een schijfje citroen of een cocktailkers. Het cocktailtype Collins is een subgroep van de longdrinks. Vanwege de frisse smaak is dit type cocktail de laatste jaren steeds populairder geworden. In tegenstelling tot de meeste andere cocktails wordt een Collins meestal direct in het glas bereid. In andere landen is het geaccepteerd dat een Fizz Cocktail ook in een cocktailshaker wordt bereid.
