Frangelico Sour Cocktail Recipe
- 5 cl Frangelico
- 3 cl lemon juice
- 2 cl sugar syrup
Step by Step Guide
- Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.
- Shake the shaker well for about 15 seconds and strain the drink into a martini or wine glass.
- Now just garnish with a cocktail cherry or lemon slice and serve!
The Frangelico Sour is prepared in exactly the same way as the Pisco Sour, Amaretto Sour or the Whisky Sour (in fact, almost the same ingredients and units of measure are used). Measure out the hazelnut liqueur, lemon juice and sugar syrup one after the other and put all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker. At the same time, add a little ice to the shaker and shake it well. After about 15 to 20 seconds, you can strain the mix through a bar strainer into a martini glass or wine glass. Now just grain it and then serve. And that’s it. You can prepare the Frangelico Sour Cocktail so quickly and easily.

As the name suggests, the Frangelico Sour has a pleasantly sour and sweet taste. The interplay of sweet and sour is not as evident in this sour cocktail as it is in the Whisky Sour or Pisco Sour. Here, sweet notes are more in the foreground, underlined by fresh sour notes. The taste of alcohol recedes strongly into the background. Overall, the drink is only slightly alcoholic anyway. Try this cocktail if you find the Whisky Sour too tart or the Pisco Sour too floral.
A cocktail from the Sour family
The sour cocktail family is really big. Many well-known drinks come from this type of cocktail and the preparation, as well as the ingredients, are the same for almost all drinks. The only difference is that you always have to decide which base spirit you want to use. In the Frangelico Sour, Frangelico is of course used as the base spirit. But there are also various other recipes in which you simply use gin, whisky, amaretto, pisco or whatever as the base spirit. Discover all the Sour Cocktails and find your new favourite recipe.
