The Blue Lagoon Cocktail is very easy to prepare and incredibly varied in taste. You only need three different ingredients to make it. First measure out the vodka and Blue Curacao with a jigger and pour the two ingredients one after the other into a cocktail shaker. Also add a few ice cubes to the shaker and shake it well.

After about 10 seconds, strain the drink through a bar strainer into a long drink glass. Now add a few ice cubes to the long drink glass and fill it up to the brim with lemonade. And that’s really all there is to it. You can stir the drink again with a bar spoon or garnish it with a slice of lemon. And now you can enjoy the drink!

This long drink is very sweet, fruity and mild. If you are looking for a sweet summer cocktail where the taste of alcohol is not so prominent, you should definitely try the Blue Lagoon. If you prefer more classically tart drinks, this drink is not for you. Try the drink yourself and adjust the ingredients so that the drink tastes good to you. You can change the ingredients almost at will and prepare the drink that you like best.

The name says it all

The Blue Lagoon Cocktail promises exactly what the name suggests. The pleasantly sweet drink has a striking blue colour and is reminiscent of the Caribbean sky. Thanks to the sweet taste, you can dream yourself to the warm beach in the Caribbean with this drink. It is believed that the Blue Lagoon cocktail was first prepared in the late 1960s. Andy MacElhone, the son of the famous bartender Harry MacElhone is believed to be the inventor of this cocktail. Contrary to what you might have suspected, the drink was not invented and first prepared in the Caribbean, but in Paris. This makes the drink much older than the 1980 film of the same name.

Over the years, the drink became more and more popular and well-known. Today you can order the drink in various cocktail bars and restaurants. You will be surprised how different bartenders interpret this drink. Therefore, if you have the chance, you should definitely order a Blue Lagoon and put the bartender’s skills to the test.
