Although the Rum Runner cocktail consists of many ingredients, it is comparatively easy to prepare. Simply add all the ingredients one after the other to a cocktail shaker. Ensure the correct mixing ratio by using a jigger or bar measure to measure out the ingredients. Then add a few ice cubes and shake the shaker well for about 25 seconds. Now you can pour the drink through a bar strainer into a long drink glass or tiki glass filled with ice. Now just garnish with fruit and serve. And that’s how easy and fast you can prepare a Rum Runner.

The drink is a very varied and refreshingly sweet tiki cocktail that should be served at every summer or pool party. Thanks to the fruit liqueurs and juices used, the drink convinces with a pleasantly fruity and refreshing taste, which is rounded off by a slightly sweet note. Thanks to the rums used, however, the Rum Runner is no lightweight and rather comes up trumps with intense alcoholic flavours. From a discounted Tiki drink to a favourite of young bar-goers

The Rum Runner was originally first prepared in the 1950s. A tiki bar in Islamorada, Florida, is considered the birthplace of this drink. The tropical drink initially spread quite quickly after its first preparation and was particularly celebrated as a fruity summer cocktail. Over the years, however, the drink fell more and more into oblivion and enjoyed only slight popularity.

Over the years, however, the recipe has also changed again and again. In the 1970s, dark rum was used as an additional ingredient for the first time. As a result, the drink experienced a rebirth and gained a lot of popularity. Today, the drink is still an indispensable part of the menus of tiki bars and some cocktail bars. Try the rum Runner yourself and experience a rum cocktail classic!
